All Zonal Railways.
Vide Railway Board’s letter No. 2006/C&IS/OTH/Delegation of Powers/36 dated 31.12.09 instructions were issued to Zonal Railways that in respect of replacement of TSS and Datacom equipment after their prescribed codal life is over as well as their maintenance, arrangements should be made by them for processing such procurement and works through revenue.
CMS application has been implemented at 286 lobbies on all Railways. The utilization of the application has been very encouraging and referential data of almost 90,000 running crews has been fed in and on a daily average 30,000 crews are “Signing On”.
The procurement of both TSS and Datacom equipment for this project was done by
CRIS in the year 2008 and warranty and AMC included in the Purchase Order was
for two years only. This will start getting over from 31st Dec, 09 onwards
depending on the date of commissioning and from January, 2010 onwards, Zonal
Railways are required to take action as per the contents of the Board’s letter
indicated above so that the utilization of the application does not suffer on
this account. Zonal Railways are advised to take immediate steps for
operationalising the policy of Railway Board in this respect.
Kindly acknowledge receipt of this letter.
