  • Linking of the Crew to Train
Based upon the requirement as mentioned in the Train link Like HQ, Type of link, Type of Crew, Route and Crew Loco Handling capabilities the CMS prepares a list of valid crew for the link. The link is displayed in the decreasing order of the seniority. The Train Clerk shall nominate a group of drivers to a particular link.
  • Booking of Crew in case of crew shortages in a category

In case of shortage of crew the Staff in lower grades can be booked in the higher grades.

a) Passenger Driver can be booked for a Mail Express Link.
b) Goods Driver can be booked on a Passenger or Mail Express link.
c) Mail express Link Driver can be booked on a Rajdhani link.

The software provides check boxes as per the standard requirement for the type of the link. In
case the TNC desires to put other crew also there then he can so choose.
  • Assistant Pilot
The assistant pilots are also booked along with the Mail Express Links all such assistant driveridentified for the crew link should have approval of Sr DEE TrO. All such crew is displayed in thelist of Assistant drivers in the decreasing order of seniority. Once a Assistant driver has been booked to a Coaching Link his name stops to come in the list of Goods Drivers.
  • Co-driver
For running of Rajdhani / Shatabdi express high speed trains instead of Assistant Pilot another driver called the Co-Driver is booked on the train. Such Drivers while going to a destination become Co-drivers while returning from the destination. Such driver / co-driver pairs are normally fixed. (Co-Driver options have still not been enabled in CMS so far)
  • Booking of Guards to a Link
The guards are on the Mail Express Links all such guards identified for the crew link should have approval of competent authority. All such crew is displayed in the list of guards in the decreasing order of seniority.

BOOKING OF CREW IN CASE OF CREW SHORTAGE IN A CATEGORY

In case of shortage of crew the Staff in lower grades can officiate in the higher grades.

  1. Passenger Driver can officiate as Mail Express Driver.
  2. Goods Driver can officiate for Passenger Driver or Mail Express Drivers. (The crew shall be on diverted list).
  3. Mail express Link Driver can Officiate as Rajdhani Driver (Psychological test to be cleared)

Such Drivers while going to a destination become Co-drivers while returning from the destination. CMS system does not encourage use of Co-Drivers normally due to economical reasons. For all such case where 2 driver are to be booked user must create 2 TA's

DIVERTED LINK CREW

Goods crew who have under done Passenger Driver pre-promotional course and who have been declared fit to work Passenger / Male express train can be booked on mail express links. For this they have to be declared fit by confirming the same in their bio data. Such drivers are called diverted link drivers.
