Crew can report abnormality observed while he is signing OFF at a KIOSK. He can report abnormality before sign OFF at the KIOSK or immediately after he has signed OFF into the KIOSK. He can not report abnormally while in BOOKED or CALLED status. The crew can report abnormality for :-

Crew has to essentially report an abnormality while signing OFF. Before sign OFF he is prompted with a message stating "Have you any abnormality to report". If the crew does not have an abnormality to report then on pressing NO a "Nil" abnormality is reported into the system. In case he stated yes he is directed to Abnormality reporting screen. He shall choose one the abnormality at a time say Track, Signal etc. The loco number, the name of the crew, train number are automatically taken from the system while the abnormality has to be typed by the crew. Say if a word "L" is typed "LURCH" is automatically typed into the system, If he presses "B" it becomes "BAD RIDING" all such words are pre stored into the CMS master data base.

The failures once reported are sent to his monitoring supervisor. For the failure reported by guard they go to the Guard Supervisor while in case a failure is reported by the Driver they are sent to Loco supervisors. These supervisors in turn have to report it to the concerned controllers in the division. Once the abnormality noticed has been closed the supervisor closes it after writing his remarks. All such abnormalities not closed by the user in 10 days cease to appear in the supervisor console.

All such abnormalities are sent through SMS to the users configured into the system. Also when the Abnormality is closed by the supervisor, it is confirmed to the crew who logged the Abnormality.
