The Supervisor of the lobby shall mark a crew as officiating by selecting a particular crew who can officiate in a particular category from the configuration manager of CMS. All such crew can be changed from officiating to normal or vice versa only when the crew has completed his journey and is at rest at his HQ.

Such crew shall appear in the list of crew now designated to officiate i.e. in case an Assistant Driver is designated as Goods driver he shall appear in the list of Goods drivers only and not in the Assistant drivers.

Such crew shall be specific to the crew of that lobby irrespective of their lobby location.

At any point of time a crew can not be selected to officiate in only one category at a timefor a period of 30 days.
- The selection shall be done strictly of the basis of the seniority number which shall be a unique integral number provided by the division for a particular category.
- Officiating list shall be issued by Branch officer. Reference number for entering the Branch officer letter reference shall essentially be required to be entered into the system.
- All such officiating shall be for a period of 30 days only beyond which the CMS system shall not allow crew to be booked in officiating category.
- While ignoring the seniority user has to log in a reason.
- An assistant driver can officiate as a coaching assistant by selecting the senior most assistant driver. Such crew identified as a coaching assistant shall become available as coaching assistants (No time limit) and not appear in the list of goods assistant.
Officiating allowance
When running staff are put to officiate in a "running" post for 30 days or less, they will be paid running allowance as follows

Note 1: LOCO PILOT SR GOODS, LOCO PILOT SR PASSENGER and PASSENGER GUARD designations are merged in other Running staff designations according to 6th CPC.
Note 2 : Crew can not officiate for NO cases which are not possible. If crew is officiating upto 30 days in running post, shall be entitled to get enhanced mileage only. In case of a crew is partially working in officiating and partially in normal duty in case of a continuously duty when normal allowance shall be payable. In case of crew working as spare then normal extra officiating allowance shall not be admissible.
